The announcement was made through Xiaomi’s Weibo account which has posted a teaser to confirm the development of this new version of Xiaomi’s popular OS for its Android-based smartphones.<br /><br />Once launched, the software will debut as the successor of the MIUI 11 that was launched by the Chinese in September last year. To remind users, Xiaomi first introduced MIUI 11 to global markets in October and the software soon found itself finding space on phones such as the Redmi K20, Redmi Note 7 Pro, and Poco F1 soon after revealing its global update roadmap in India.<br /><br />The teaser that’s gone up on Weibo reveals a number of interesting things about the upcoming Android-based OS. This teaser hints that the MIUI 12 software is likely to include new system fonts and retain the minimalistic design that we saw on MIUI 11. However, since the teaser shows a gradient effect on the digit 12, we’re expecting Xiaomi to add new shades and colour schemes on the new MIUI version.<br /><br />Apart from this, there is little else that’s known about Xiaomi’s upcoming software.
